Crestal Bone and Dental Implants

Level of bone crest surrounding the implant is of utmost significance to determine osseointegrated implant success, as a preservation of marginal bone height is highly important for the long-term dental implant.There are multiple factors which may lead to crestal bone loss. These include bone volume, biological width, soft-tissue biotype, a condition of the adjacent teeth, implant design, implant dimensions, abutment design, augmentation procedures, implant insertion depth, time of loading, time of restoration, suturing techniques and patient compliance.therefore, An understanding of the etiology of crestal bone loss is very important for the implant success. There are various approaches to preserve the crestal bone for the long-term success of implant.
